Extended fork cover (also known as fork extensions , English fork extensions or forklift fork extensions ) are a device attached to the standard forks of a forklift to help lift and transport goods that are larger or longer than normal.
1, Uses of Extended fork cover:
- Increase the length of the forks to lift long goods (such as steel pipes, wooden boards, long pallets…).
- Reduces the risk of dropping cargo when the fork is too short.
- Cost savings compared to replacing the entire set in the long run.
2, Structure and material of the extended fork:
- Made of high strength steel , high load capacity.
- U-shaped, slides into existing forklift forks.
- One end is open for easy fitting, the other end is sealed or rounded.
- Has a locking pin or chain to hold securely.
3, Technical specifications of extension forks for different load capacities:
Length | Maximum load (depending on type) | For wide |
1200 mm | 1-2.5 tons | 100-125 mm |
1500 mm | 3-3.5 tons | 125-150 mm |
1800 mm | 4-5 tons | 125-150 mm |
2000 mm | 6-10 tons | 150-175 mm |
2400 mm | 12-15 tons | 200-250 mm |
Note: The length of the extension fork should not exceed 1.5 times the length of the original fork , to ensure safe operation.
4, Note when using the extended lifting fork:
- Do not use extension forks to lift loads exceeding the allowable load.
- Check the lock pin and chain carefully before operating.
- Always comply with safety regulations on fork length according to technical standards.
- If you would like to purchase , design or make your own extension, let me know:
- The type of forklift you are using (load capacity, current fork length).
- The type of goods you want to lift.
- Need for regular or occasional use.
I can advise further or send sample drawings if you need.
